Tap the + button anywhere in the app and paste a product link — Magpie fetches the title, photo and price for you. You can also snap a photo of a real-world thing (Magpie works out what it is), or describe it by hand. On your phone, install Magpie from your browser's “Add to Home Screen” and it appears in your share sheet: share any product page straight to Magpie.

A few stores hide their pages from apps like ours. When that happens Magpie keeps the link and asks you to fill in a name and price — everything else (sharing, claiming, ideas) works exactly the same.

“Love it” is the tell-your-family tier — it gets a heart badge on shared lists. “Want it” is the default. “Nice to have” rounds out a list without pressure.

Use “Got it already” in the item's menu instead. It moves to the cupboard at the bottom of the list (with its price history intact) and you can bring it back any time.

Go to Ideas, pick who you're shopping for (or just describe them), add the occasion and budget, and Magpie answers with real, buyable suggestions. Thumbs-up the good ones and thumbs-down the misses — every reaction sharpens what comes next for that person.

To a real store search for that idea — never an invented product page. Save an idea to a list first if you want to attach the exact product link once you've found it.

About two weeks before someone's occasion, Magpie quietly gets ideas ready and tells you. You open the app to suggestions, not to a blank page and a deadline.

Open the list → “Share this list” → copy the link. Anyone with the link can view and claim — no account needed. Make it private again any time.

No — and that's a feature, not a gap. Claims are visible to other gift-givers (so nobody doubles up) but never to you. Surprises stay surprises.

Open the shared list on the same device and tap “Changed my mind” on the item. It goes straight back up for grabs.

Items saved with a link and price are watched automatically (up to your plan's limit). Magpie re-checks each store roughly daily and notifies you when a price falls meaningfully — at least 5% and a dollar.

Everything lands in the in-app bell. Turn on push notifications in Settings to get them on your device the moment they happen, and email delivery arrives with the same alerts once switched on.

Use “Forgot it?” on the sign-in page — we'll email you a one-hour reset link. If you signed up with Google or Apple, you can also set a password in Settings → Security.

Settings → Account → Delete account. Everything goes, permanently. No dark patterns, no exit interview.
